Dishes, Okay, Yeah, and Hiccups

That title pretty much sums up these next few videos.

Here is Talmage helping me unload the dishwasher. His favorite things to do are help with the dishes, the laundry, sweeping, cooking, etc. I hope he always loves these tasks!

I get really loud hiccups. I have been teased about them since I was little. Whenever I would get them at school, my teachers would stop class to try to eliminate the distraction. As much as I have been teased about my hiccups, I never thought a 13 month old would make fun of me for them! But here, Talmage laughs at my hiccups and then tries to imitate the noise himself.

Asking Nicely

The request for me to please open the phone so he can press the buttons. His urgency is clearly displayed on his face.

"Here ya go, Mom!"

And off he goes to play at his favorite spot (of course).

And just because it makes me laugh, here is another picture. Doesn't that face make you feel like he is doubting what you're saying or something? He already thinks he's smarter than us, as he shows with his "arguing" and fiercely independent nature. We're in for it with this one...

Life From the Floor's Perspective

Sometimes Talmage eats the Cheerios he dropped from his high chair onto the floor. Under his high chair has got to be one of the cleanest places in the house, though, considering how many times each day I am down on my hands and knees scrubbing up the food that found its way under there.

He carefully navigated himself past the bar,

but then got stuck during the extraction process.

After trying for a while, he decided maybe he would just hang out in that position...you know, lay his head on the tile, clutch his toothbrush...that sort of thing.

He made his way out and then came to give me a cute half-smile. I'm not sure what is with the ghost face on the right side of the picture...

Then he continued eating Cheerios...in a very stoic fashion.

And this picture just makes me laugh. He was just putting another Cheerio in his mouth, but it looks like he is either very soberly shocked or is pulling some sort of strange dance move with his hand moving across his face.

One of Those Days

Poor Talmage had his schedule disturbed in all kinds of ways the other day. I always feel so terrible when he is so tired that he crashes in his high chair.

Oh, I love him...I love him so much!

Halloween Fun

We affectionately refer to Talmage as "our bear." So it was only appropriate that for our ward's Halloween festivities he was a panda bear!

Some Current Obsessions

#1: Cell phones

Talmage still loves cell phones. He loves pressing the buttons, he loves "talking on the phone" (see how he holds it behind his shoulder to talk? so funny!), and he loves calling people. I'm sorry if he ever calls you. It's hard to find anything that entertains him as long as a cell phone, so I let him do his thing with it. :)

#2: The Screwtape Letters

This is currently Talmage's favorite book. I could have taken about a hundred pictures just like this--he loves to grab a copy of this C. S. Lewis classic and take it to his favorite spot in the house (this window), perch it on the windowsill, and flip through the pages as he observes the great outdoors.

#3: Drinking

He loves milk so much! The pediatrician told me to increase the amount of milk I give him and hopefully that will help him gain some weight. The trouble is, now all he wants to do is drink--water or milk--and now is content to fill up on milk alone and has all but stopped eating. Hmm...I guess we'll just keep adjusting.

Fishies

I snapped a few pictures the other day while Talmage was enjoying some fish crackers. Pardon the blurry appearance of some...

Pretending to sleep. He is always game for a good joke! Look at his little smile!

He pretty much thinks he's the strongest guy in the world.

Sharing...and very excited about it too. With an approach like that, how could I refuse a soggy cracker from his drool-covered fist?

This doesn't really look like him...the crooked eyes tug at my heartstrings though!

And just as a random afterthought, here he is playing with his trick-or-treat bucket a few days before our ward's trunk-or-treat they had on Saturday (pictures to come!).

Now I need to put a bunch of pictures on a DVD and delete them from the hard drive, which is very full of baby pictures. :)
