Trip to Utah

I just was not finding time to post the pictures about this trip, so I decided to do it in shifts...bear with me while I blog about it all!
Here we are in the airport--Talmage was thrilled about the trip.
Happy 3rd of July! You have to love Kaysville (and most of Utah), which celebrated the 4th on the 3rd/5th since the 4th was on a Sunday. It was fun to be there for the festivities, although we missed Sam terribly and were really antsy until he rejoined us on Tuesday.
Where does he get these poses?
Sweet.
Wow...can you tell we were tired?
The BBQ (complete with smoked chickens), fireworks, treats, and family were a delight!

Belated Birthdays

I have been doing blog posts to give birthday shout outs to my side of the family. But I was in Utah on my brother's birthday, and the upload picture function wasn't working on my mom's birthday. So I decided to do the posts anyway...

Happy birthday to my brother Corban! I always call him with my questions about cars, appliances, and other "fix-it" or "consumer savvy" topics. He always gives sound advice and is always very generous with his time. I appreciate his know-how so much! I hope your birthday was fantastic, and I'm glad we could be there to help celebrate. Or just eat your birthday dinner. Either way, I'm glad we were there. :)
And happy birthday to my mom! This was pretty much the only somewhat recent picture I have of my mom and I together. That's demonstrative of the kind of person she is--always doing so much work behind the scenes, never expecting rewards or praise. She has put her whole heart and soul into raising a righteous family, and I see her influence in my life every day. I'm so grateful I have been blessed to have her as my mom! Happy birthday!

Love you both!

Someday

Someday I'll blog about our trip to Utah. But my, there sure are a lot of pictures. So in the meantime, here are a few catch-up posts for your enjoyment (or mine).

Bristle Blocks

A family friend gave us these bristle blocks shortly after Talmage was born (thanks, Harkers!). It will be a while before he actually builds things with them, I'm sure, but for now he still likes playing with them!
Hmm...what to do, what to do...

Yo.

I can't get enough of this boy!!!

Life Lately

Mr. Pants-Head
When he sets his mind to doing something, there isn't a whole lot you can do to stop him! He'll find a way! He has done this more than once--the buckle was completely fastened, but he found a way to get the speck on the floor he found. He wasn't thrilled, however, about the predicament he got himself into.
He loves drinking from cups! (And soaking himself in the process...)
Anything adults do that he can do makes him absolutely ecstatic.
How mischievous does he look here?? He likes getting under the piano, where we have our CDs, and pulling them out. I don't really mind, and we don't really have a better place to put them, so I just let him do it. I, however, no longer take the time to re-alphabetize them when he's done.

Plain and Simple Joy

Always lots of kisses! (And sometimes biting...)

On the Move

Talmage has been doing a whole lot of this lately:

Yep, he's walking! And in case you couldn't tell, he's pretty thrilled about it, too. :)
