This morning, I started doing my laundry. I put the first load in the dryer, started it, and realized after a few minutes that I could hear a strange swishing noise emitting from the dryer. I opened the door only to find a red glowing behind the grate on the back wall! A burning smell filled the air, and I was obviously somewhat alarmed.
I called the office, explained the problem, and a few hours later a maintenance man came to take a look at it. The diagnosis? A bird had built its nest over the outer vent, which clogged it and created my problems!

I'm glad you got a picture before the nest was removed. What an adventure!
Yeah, can't you see the dryer vent under that nest? :) Silly.
